Our purpose is to help develop effective worksite based programs and strategies
to decrease the occurrence of musculoskeletal work related disorders. Ergo Consultants
partner with both your internal Management/Employee Team as well as with your Regional
CIS Risk Management Consultant and CIS Claims Team Examiner to implement services
that will help you control MSD related claims costs.
CIS Ergo Team services are provided to your entity as part of your CIS workers’
compensation insurance plan.

CIS takes a “whole person” approach with ergonomics. Ergonomics is defined as “fitting
the work to the worker”. At CIS, we believe in partnering with you in every way
possible to build effective employee-driven ergo safe work practices into your every
day work culture to promote employee health, safety, and comfort on a “24-hour a
day” basis.
- If you participate in one of our CIS Employee Benefits Health Plans, then you and
your employees also have access to our CIS Healthy Benefits program offerings. At
CIS, we are able to help you integrate these offerings under a safety and health
umbrella. As a CIS health plan member, you and your employees also have access to
our CIS sponsored Employee Assistance Program (EAP) EASE.
- If you participate in our CIS Liability Pool, Ergo Consultants are able to integrate
ergonomic solutions in partnership with you and your CIS Liability Claims Team and
our CIS Pre-Loss Legal Team.
- If you participate in our CIS Workers’ Compensation
Pool, then we are able to work creatively with your CIS Claims Examiner to minimize
claims costs for you and enhance the health, well-being, and safe return to work
for the injured employee.

Myth:
|
Ergonomics is expensive.
|
|
Truth:
|
The average office ergonomic modification costs less than *$250.00, whereas the
average cost to process an 801 injury report form is $350.00.

The old risk management cliché, “the best claim is a claim that never happens,”
is certainly true in ergonomics. A pro-active employee-driven ergonomic program
prevents many soft tissue MSD’s from ever becoming either a workers’ compensation
or medical claim.
|
|
|
|
|
|
At CIS, we help you implement prevention and risk management strategies that are
effective in decreasing workers’ compensation claims costs, associated dollars spent
on unproductive time away from work, and claims costs that could be associated with
an ADA or fitness for duty employment claim.
